Sustainability

We're working to build an environmentally responsible supply chain. From A to Z(ed).

Choices we make every day effect the future of our planet. As a business, we feel it's our responsibility to lead the way and provide a viable option for consumers that want to change their buying behaviour for the better. This is especially important in fashion, which has historically been a culprit of high carbon emissions and unsustainable resource consumption.

At Good For Sunday, we think there's a better way. We believe that when you do expand your wardrobe, it should be with pieces that are long lasting in both style and wear. Not trendy, but timeless. Crafted using high quality, ethical labour. Pieces that feature materials that have a lower impact on the planet, and use more sustainable cultivation practices.

Our materials

Organic cotton

Organic cotton is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. It doesn’t damage the soil, and uses 88% less water and 62% less energy to produce.

Our GOTS certified organic cotton is grown using techniques that help to conserve water. Organic soils require less irrigation—80% of the land producing organic cotton is located in areas which are predominantly rainfed.

TENCEL™ Lyocell

TENCEL™ Lyocell fiber is derived from sustainably-sourced (and certified) wood sources. The production process uses solvent and water that are recycled in a closed-loop process — so more than 99% of the solvent is recovered and reused.

When it comes to wear, TENCEL™ Lyocell is supremely soft, breathable, and light. It’s durability and excellent colour retention makes for long-lasting pieces you’ll have in your collection for years to come.

Bamboo

One of the most renewable resources in the world, bamboo is a grass that naturally replenishes itself and releases about 35% more oxygen than trees. Bamboo reaches a mature height of 75 feet in just 45 days, using 33% less water than cotton and without use of pesticides.

It’s good for both the planet, and for you. Bamboo garments are unbelievably soft, naturally breathable, moisture wicking, and anti-bacterial. They’re even hypo-allergenic and UV resistant.

Linen

Linen is one of the most biodegradable fabrics in fashion. Made from flax plant fibres, this plant is extremely resilient and can grow in poor soil using very little water. Across its entire lifecycle, a linen garment uses only 6 litres of water.

The benefits of linen are seemingly endless ‒ it withstands high temperatures, absorbs moisture without holding bacteria, and becomes softer with wear.

Hemp

Hemp is a natural plant fiber that grows quickly using very little water and no chemical herbicides. It produces 250% more fiber for fabric than cotton on the same land, giving it the highest yield per acre of any natural fiber.

Growing this breatheable and light fabric also replenishes most nutrients back into the soil, allowing for essential food crops to be grown easily for local communities.

Shipping & packaging

Responsible packaging

Compostable & recyclable packaging

We've opted to invest in compostable & recycleable packaging for our mailers and product bags that individually wrap each item in your order.

Add our compostable packaging to your at-home compost and it will completely decompose within 6 months.

Our recycled packaging is made from 100% post-consumer waste, bringing new life to plastics that would have ended up in a landfill. They are also recyclable themselves.

Responsible shipping

Carbon offsetting

We automatically neutralize the shipping emissions of your order by donating to reforestation projects.

We've partnered with Pachama, a best-in-class organization in carbon neutral protocols and standards. Our contributions are currently funding the Jarí Para Forest Conservation Project in the Amazon Rainforest.

Responsible returns

EcoDrop: an eco-friendly returns alternative

Returns around the world contribute 16 million tonnes of CO2 from shipping trips and billions of pounds of landfill waste.

We've developed an innovative is customer-to-customer return network called EcoDrop that drastically reduces the environmental impact returns has on our planet.

Our business practices

Process efficiency

Our apparel factory uses state-of-the-art knitting machines to reduce energy consumption, and our cutting and sewing department recycles upwards of 50% of their textile waste. We even sweat the small things, like reusing boxes between our partners.

Water-based screen printing

Our screen prints use an eco-friendly water-based process. Water-based inks are free from harmful ozone depleting chemicals and aromatic hydrocarbons. This makes them better for the environment, and safe for our team to apply to the garment.

Reuse of water

Our dye house has one of the most advanced waste water treatment systems in the industry. The discharged water is treated for particulates, acidity, and temperature and sent back into the water system to be 100% reused.
